Are you expecting a baby, but struggling to find a birth preparation course offered in English? This antenatal course is designed for international parents and English-speaking families who want to feel confident and well prepared for childbirth. Where can we give birth? When should we go to the hospital? How long does labour take? What can we do to ease the pain? What exactly is the role of a birth partner?
This course provides honest, evidence-based information and practical guidance on pregnancy, labour, birth, the postpartum period, breastfeeding and early parenting, all of which is clearly explained with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. We’ll discuss the stages of labour, clinical procedures, breathing and relaxation techniques, pain relief options and how your partner or support person can effectively assist you. Gentle movement and mental preparation exercises will help you to build confidence in yourself and in the birthing process. The course is open to pregnant people and expectant parents, with or without a partner. Ideally, you should complete the course by the 36th week of pregnancy.
Included in the course are a take-home handout and a WunderZeit postpartum gathering a joyful reunion with your babies. We will set the date for this session together during the course.
